CHA Board Members


Sam and Pam Charrier have been happily married for almost 12 years and happily homeschooling for 5 years. They are the proud parents of ten year old Christian, eight year old Canaan, and seven year old Sarah. Pam has served on both co-op advisory councils, and as a leader in Girl Scouts, Speech, and Spelling Bee. Besides being a supportive husband and father, Sam works at LSU Conway as a Registered Nurse. They are so thankful for the opportunity to homeschool and to be part of such an awesome Christian homeschool group. Sam and Pam look forward to serving CHA as board members and in serving any other way that God may lead them.

J. and Jon Marie Byram live in West Monroe. They have 3 daughters who are in the 10th, and 3rd grades, and a Freshman in college.. J & Jon Marie also serve on the athletic board and Jon Marie is the director of the CHA Choir and co-facilitator of the yearbook staff. This will be their eleventh year to homeschool.

Mark and Penny Bragg will be married for 22 years in August of this year.  They have 3 children:  Madilyn (13), Cooper (10) and Carli (6)  and have homeschooled for 8 years.  The Bragg family attends New Life Community Church in Monroe.  Penny works part-time (PRN) at LabCorp as a Microbiologist - usually about 2 weekends a month and some early mornings for a few hours.  Mark has worked at CenturyTel/Link in the Information Technology department for almost 20 years.  Mark also assists Kim Alexander in coaching the CHA girls basketball team.  We've been remodeling our house for  the past 10 yrs. and have taken up geocaching as a family hobby.

Jay and Karla Curtis are celebrating 11 years of marriage and  live in West Monroe with their children Sabrina (8) and Wesley (5).  Jay is the Program Director of the public radio station 90.3 KEDM in Monroe.  He also enjoys teaching a juggling class at the West Monroe Co-op.  Karla is on the West Monroe Co-Op Advisory Council as 3-6th grade coordinator and works part-time as a pharmacist at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.  They have been homeschooling for 5 years.  They attend Family Church in West Monroe, and enjoy doing the homeschool life together with a bunch of great families.

Brian and Carrie Spence live in West Monroe. They have been homeschooling for 4 years. They have three children ages 2nd grade, 1st grade, and 3 years. They are looking foward to the opportunity to serve as new board members and Treasurer.




John & Becky Ponthieux reside in West Monroe and have been home schooling for 3 years. They have a daughter in 7th grade and a son in 3rd. They are actively involved in CHA sports, John is Assistant Coach for the baseball team and Becky helps with girls basketball and concessions. Becky is also on the Monroe Co-op Advisory Council as Chapel Coordinator. They feel blessed to be a part of such an amazing group of people and are excited to be an integral part of the future of CHA.
